In the distant future, humans have returned to a hunter-gatherer way of life under the protection and spiritual guidance of androids known as the Shepherds. Today is the day of Avi’s Unbecoming, a ceremony in which her shepherd will guide her through visions of the role she must play in society: what she will do, where she will live, whom she will spend the rest of her life with... But instead, she experiences disturbing visions — of war, chaos, and a mysterious fortress in a land of ice — that will lead her to uncover the truth about how the world came to be this way, and what she must do to save it.

Hi! I'm Martin Wintz. Automata Prophecy is my first attempt at writing or illustrating a comic. In fact, I was a software engineer until a couple years ago, when I left the industry to teach myself illustration. This will be a huge learning experience for me, and I plan on sharing my insights on this blog in order to self-reflect and give back to the amazing online art community. I have written a first post about my plans for Automata Prophecy.
